A great job last week for a newly formed horse racing syndicate found me spending a day at Haydock Park, the brief being to capture the excitement and atmosphere of a day at the races. Nice to have an Owner/Trainer badge and be given free access, it was very much ‘a day in the life of’ – we got to see a lot of behind the scenes stuff and the amount of work involved in a race day. Thanks to everyone at Haydock Park for looking after me.
I shot the attached in the parade ring and thought panning the camera on a slow shutter speed might work well.

A day at the Races.
The Future of Work
Probably the best video i’ve seen for ages that encapsulates where we are in this new age of ‘social media’
Nike Ad – write the future
If you didn’t want to be professional footballer before, you will now !
Stewart Lee on Social Media
An interesting insight into the world of Social Media !!
I’ll check you later !
I’m sure most ski resorts have a video weather report, Jeremy Pack does a daily weather report from Morzine which led on to a very funny end of season mini movie entered into The Cavern 24/7 Film Competition …. and won.
The Swiss Wall
After missing out on a ski trip last year a few days in Morzine, France was great. For me there’s always the trepidation on day one when you are just about to set off on the first run ‘ i hope i can remember how to do this’ …. i guess it’s like learning to ride a bike ? but i dn’t get chance to go out on my bike much either !!
Paris … in the not quite yet spring time.
Well i have been a bit lax on the posts … & this is more in relation to leisure than work but hey ! – i did take a camera with me on a recent trip to Paris. Helen & i stayed at Mama Shelter – a venture between Philippe Starck and a few of his pals to create an affordable hip hotel and fill it with great design elements, some quirky, some ingenious – in fact it was a former car park not that you would know – designers eh … what a sickeningly clever bunch.
For me it’s been 20 years since my last trip to Paris and we made the same mistake as on any other city break – trust my sense of direction ! ….. We walked for miles sometimes in the opposite intended direction – which made me appreciate all the moreĀ the Time Out Paris app with GPS maps.
Elvis & Kresse
Never one to turn down a free gift …. the kind people at O2 have offered me an Iphone case made by Elvis & Krasse. All products are made from recycled materials and with 50% of the company profits going to charity i would say they are worth endorsing. Have a look on the website.
Cupcake Heaven
Now i am partial to a bit of cake so it’s a real test of self control this week – photographing Cupcakes …. and more importantly trying not to eat them !
